Get started

1. Register/Create a User id

Go to the top right corner and click on "log in" and follow the prompts. You need a user id in order to edit the pages. We encourage people to use their real names or a variation that facilitates connectivity and accountability.

2. Browse our book and passage listings

The Main_Page lists every book of the Bible. Click on the name of the book to go to that book's introduction page. On each introduction page, you will see headings on Author, Date, Occasion & Purpose, and Themes. You can contribute to each of these sections. You will also see an outline of the passages in that book. We created these passage divisions to avoid the proliferation of confusing and competing passage divisions that users might generate. (If you don't agree with how the passage is divided, feel free to note that in the commentary for that passage; but we ask that you do not create an alternative page for that passage. It will be deleted).

3. Click on a passage page

(For fun, you can also click on "Random page" in the navigation menu). Blue-colored passage links mean those pages have been created, with our standard Commontary template pasted in. You can go ahead start contributing! For some sample work, take a look at entries in Philemon.

Red-shaded passage links mean those pages have not yet been created. Many areas of Commontary in the Old Testament are still under construction, but go ahead and add content to any blue-colored passage!
