FAQs
Is COMMONTARY a B2C or B2B product?
It's both!
- The COMMONTARY iOS app is currently in Beta testing, and will be available to the public in 2026.
- COMMONTARY's patented syncing technology can be white-labeled or embedded in existing apps and other technology used by streamers, broadcasters, professional sports leagues, etc.
Will it work with my current digital delivery systems?
YES! The COMMONTARY algorithm is very flexible and adaptable for a number of different platforms and can easily be dropped into any third-party app, social media channel, or website.
How can COMMONTARY generate revenue?
- The COMMONTARY technology allows for commercial or sponsored breaks within audio streams
- Digital in-app advertising
- Subscription/On-Demand fees for select content
- Increase user engagement and traffic to apps, websites, or social media channels
- Broadcasters/streamers can further monetize existing content by adding previously inaccessible, hyper-targeted viewing segments, growing their audiences by utilizing alternate talent
What about licensing and rights fees for the original video?
As long as audio content from the originating video is not being rebroadcast in an additional audio stream, there are no legal ramifications for using the COMMONTARY technology to deliver content. In fact, any additional audio is itself protected by the 1st Amendment as opinion-based free speech. This content is essentially no different than live Tweets, except that it's delivered over audio that is synced with a user's video feed.
User-created original alternate audio is in and of itself considered proprietary and protected.
More importantly, COMMONTARY's goal is to work with broadcasters and other rights holders to help them reach new audiences by adding new voices to their content.
How does a listener find alternative audio commentary?
- COMMONTARY has developed an audio search function whereby alternate audio options are delivered automatically based on the content being watched by the user.
